Settled by Jesuits in 1697, Loreto was at one time the capital of the Baja California peninsula territory but remains a sleepy fishing village with an emerging tourism infrastructure. Golf, fishing and other sports offer travelers plenty of activities. The spectacular Sierra La Giganta provides a wonderful natural backdrop to this scenic town. |
