Minatitlan/Coatzacoalcos Airport (MTT) Mexicana Telephone: 800-531-7921 General Comment: 1/25/11 - Mexicana Airlines filed for Bankruptcy protection in both the US and Mexico in August 2010 and suspended ticket sales and flight operations. There have been sporadic reports of ticket sales and operations renewals. The latest one has them renewing in March 2011. . Mexicana's gateways in the US include Los Angeles, San Jose, San Francisco, Chicago, San Antonio, New York (JFK), Miami, Sacramento, Las Vegas, Fresno, CA, Dallas-Fort Worth, Orlando and Denver. Canadian gateways include Montreal, Toronto, Calgary, Edmonton and Vancouver. Latin American gateways include Bogota, Buenos Aires, Caracas, Guatemala, San Jose Costa Rica, Panama City, San Salvador, Sao Paolo and Havana. Some routes are operated under code-share agreements with other airlines. European gateways include Madrid and London. Destinations in Mexico with direct service from the US include Mexico City, Puerto Vallarta, Guadalajara, Morelia, Leon (Bajio Airport), Zacatecas, Cancun, Mazatlan and Los Cabos. Mexicana was the first international carrier to serve Los Angeles when flights were inaugurated in the 1930's.
